No real rush. Here’s some Wifi for ya, mate.

John Wanamaker –– not to be confused with Led Zeppelin’s D’yer Mak’er –– said that business can be learned…

…But that the ability to deal with people is the most valuable skill under the sun.

People are funny creatures, aren’t we?

Rory Sutherland is the opening Keynote Speaker at this year’s B2B Forum in Boston.

And I am pumped.

If you don’t know Rory, he’s the Vice Chairman of Ogilvy & Mather and a marketer with a keen sense of what makes people take action.

Not logically, but psycho-logically.

People ideas, like those Wanamaker sought out.

Instead of making high-cost faster trains that save 20 minutes, asks Rory, why not just make the ride more enjoyable with free Wifi?

That’s just one example from his book Alchemy.

I’ve been digging on my shelves for a few days and can’t seem to find my copy.

But I will soon enough, I’m sure.

Meanwhile, if you enjoyed Daniel Kahneman’s Thinking, Fast and Slow

I highly recommend Rory Sutherland’s Alchemy.

PS. Einstein didn’t just come up with world-changing ideas.

Rory Sutherland, either.

Instead, they both thought deeply, with boredom and without distraction, to arrive at their insights.

We’re bombarded with distractions and it’s killing our curiosity and creativity.

And AI is cranking out more distractions by the second.

How do you deal with it?

Screens off?

Notifications silenced?

Blocked websites?

Willpower?

Reply and let me know, won’t you?

Because I had planned some quiet time today… and I have been failing.
