Prank Call marketing lessons

“He fell for it! Ha ha ha hahahahahaaa hahaaaa ha…”

My daughter is prank calling people in my phonebook.

(Of course, I had to teach her the *67 trick to hide my number…)

To be clear, this is the first time I’ve been involved with a prank call as an adult.

And it’s kinda fascinating, to be honest…

The kids think they’re doing something devious.

“He fell for it!”

For what exactly?

To them, it’s hilarious.

“I’m going to say, ‘This is Bilford Roofing, and we did your roof, is that right?'”

For the kids, the mounting anticipation is exciting…

Even as most people block the unknown number.

Of course, the recipient is expecting a sales message from an unknown number.

Insta-Block-O.

(Gotta get past those defenses, marketer!)

And when someone actually does answer, when the call connects…

“Hello?”

“This is Bilford Roofing, and we did your roof, is that right?”

Well, the adult on the other end?

Just… confused:

“We’ve lived here seven years,” said my dad. “Maybe you did the roof…?”

(Gotta land that marketing message, marketer.)

Then, daughter o’ mine, follows up with…

“Is your refrigerator running?”

Better go catch it, *|FNAME|*.

PS Gotta land your jokes, marketer. How’d I do today? Let me know—hit reply with a number from 1/2 to 6.2 thanks.

PPS The kids are having more fun planning… than calling.

PPPS M&S in San Diego you were both called this evening 😉
