Don’t let objections stop you!

Disqualified! Not exactly…

Hey, was looking at a potential client site recently to apply for an in-house role there.

And the application asked if I lived in Minneapolis.

Well, no. I don’t.

Will that filter me out of the running?

Minneapolis is like 3 blocks away tho, and across the river.

I applied anyway, but then hit up their website’s Contact Us form.

Subject line: I’m not qualified.

Now, I don’t know if that will reach the right people or not…

But in my note I addressed the objections they might have to my application.

Do I have 3 years experience in Lifestyle Marketing? No, 10 years in “selling with words,” as copywriting is known as.

Do I have a degree in English? No, just a decade of training with the best writers I can find.

Do I live in Minneapolis? No… but close enough.

Will this Contact Us form reach the right people?

No idea.

But if LinkedIn filters out my application because I don’t live in Minneapolis, maybe this will still get someone’s attention.

Remember to address objections and when possible, turn them into benefits.

Love you,

Jeffrey
