The Important 20% of Sales: COPY

Yesterday we discussed BIG IDEAS in marketing and how a good structure can be used to entice shoppers into buying.

But one thing I didn’t mention?

You can’t take this winning structure –– or any other –– and just “make it work” without knowing something about your audience.

I spoke with Brian Kurtz this morning about his 41/39/20 rule of marketing:

41% of your success comes from “the list.”

Or better said:

From knowing the people on your list, and what they want.

Brian’s history has been defined by his willingness to Overdeliver in his relationships, from his time at Boardroom Books to his current Titans Mastermind… and his willingness to be a guest on my podcast.

(Episode coming one of thee days.)

In the meantime, study your market.

Know who they are (41%) and what they want (39%).

Only then does a good copy structure work –– and while it’s 20% of your success, it’s incredibly important.

But if you’ve already done the market research?

Well, that’s where Rick Peterson’s 3 email sequences come into play.

As I mentioned yesterday, Rick sent an email sequence during his time at Agora Financial that pulled in $90,000.

Then he followed up with non-buyers to pull in another $65,000.

He then systematized that knowledge around his BIG IDEAS and recorded a 30 minute video to explain how he thinks about these BIG IDEAS… how he writes his email copy… and what 3 of these sequences (2 Agora + 1 other sequence for fundraising) do “behind the scenes,” inside the reader’s brain.

Fascinating stuff tbh.

We worked out a deal:

I’ll share with Rick the “Emotional, Hot-Button Copywriting” secrets…

If he’d share his BIG IDEA frameworks with you and me.

He agreed, but only for 48 hours.

Which is now down to about 24 hours.

If those frameworks are something you could use, visit Rick at:
