They say you only have to try and you’re already ahead of 99% of other people.
Is that true?
Not in my experience.
But it IS a good idea that makes people feel like they’ve accomplished something.
I got a cold email today that starts by greeting someone else… and then it gets worse:
Hi Gabriella
I hope you are having a productive day
I’m K**, a Content Growth Strategist at XXXX. I wanted to connect and see if you’d be open to exploring a mutually beneficial content collaboration. I believe there’s strong alignment between our audiences, and there’s potential to create value on both sides, whether through content contributions, mentions, or strategic placements.
I warned you against jargon like “mutually beneficial content creation” and “alignment.”
But K** must not have gotten the message.
By using my correct name and writing like a human, this cat might get more interest in his offer.
Here’s a tip: read your writing out loud. Does it sound natural? If not… fix it.
So… is K*** in the 1% of people who accomplish something, just because he tried?
Or is the barrier to success really that low?
Have a great week ahead,
Jeffrey
Hey, how is your offer working out, anyhow?
If you’d like an expert review, reply now and we can get on a short, 15-min call later in the week to see where your marketing works, and where it can be improved.
And because my kids are back to school and I can think straight again…
I’ll do it free.
I only have time for 3 of these tho.
