This one store does it ALL [Photos]

12:00 noon on a Friday
Saint Paul

Hey, I’m back in your inbox after taking a few weeks off. Feels good to be here—I like what you’ve done with the place.

As soon as school got out, the fam and I went on a trip to the Southwest USA. We hit up the Grand Canyon, Arches National Park, Mesa Verde, Four Corners, and Monument Valley.

It was GREAT to step away from my GrUeLiNg JoB where I write words that make money. No computers for a week! And it’s great to be back at it, too.

Now, on this trip, I took over 900 photos.

(My kids and wife took a few as well.)

So many of my own photos are TERRIBLE. Dust on the lens. Dust on the sensor. Out-of-focus shots from the car window.

But I got a few gems, too.

Old, run-down hotels.

7-11 stores (which used to exist in Minnesota but no longer).

And of course, rocks.

So many rocks.

Which are cool when you’re there… but don’t always work out in photos.

Anyways, you opened this to see the Everything Store.

Here it is, shot out the front window as we cruised by:

It’s a cafe. And they sell dairy. You can stay in the motel, or rent a cabin. Fill up on gasoline. Buy some Indian jewelry, or maybe just parts to make your own. Also, they have car parts to sell you, if you happen to have the same model.

We tried to eat lunch at another place but it was Wednesday and they didn’t open until Friday. There were no other restaurants on our Google map.

So in Bluff, Utah—established in 650 AD—maybe an Everything Store like this one does OK.

But it’s better marketing to be known for one thing. And to be good at that one thing.

I’m not so sure I’d trust the dairy from this jewelry-and-motor-parts cafe.

How’s your marketing? Want help? Hit reply and tell me about your business. I’ll add you to my waiting list.

Otherwise, have a great weekend.
