When I spoke at a marketing conference last year, I asked if people were familiar with Dan Kennedy.
Not a single person in my audience raised their hand.
Which only sorta surprised me.
Kennedy is a direct response marketer, through and through. He’s got a ton of business ideas, too–many of which go against the grain of modern business and marketing.
That’s attractive to me.

I recorded Episode 4 of my Persuasion Play Podcast with direct response copywriter Matt Rizvi waaay back in 2019.
Then, like all my podcast episodes, it got bumped when the next was recorded…
Lost to history… forever.

Don’t you hate unproductive meetings?
I’m at my table sipping coffee after a morning run, looking over my notes from a meeting yesterday.
A rather unproductive one.
The guest speaker couldn’t give concrete examples of his ideas. He kept trailing off… changing topics mid-sentence… and never completing a thought.
In short: he couldn’t communicate well. And without examples of his work or ideas… he wasn’t earning my trust.
It was frustrating and even the host didn’t seem to know where to take the directionless conversation.
But not all is lost!
