“It’s the experience, stupid”

Back from Orlando!

And one thing that stood out is the importance of the experience.

Disney is a masterclass in experience. Everything is designed to capture your attention and spur your imagination.

Marketing great Dan Kennedy suggests visiting Disney twice a year, just to soak it in.

Kennedy Space Center? (named for President John F. Kennedy, not marketer Dan Kennedy lol)

The KSC had some good experiences for sure, but room for improvement with the hour-long bus tour lines and broken astronaut simulation equipment.

To paraphrase another president, President Clinton:

“It’s the economy experience, stupid!”

• It’s the experience that people remember.

• It’s the experience that gives people a story.

• It’s the experience that makes an emotional impact.

Good or bad, it’s the experience people remember.

Does your marketing, copywriting, or website give visitors an experience?

Fill them with excitement, or hope, or anger, or curiosity, or exclusivity? Some emotion?

Something that only you or your brand can say, an experience only you or your brand can give?

Because people won’t remember the specific things your CEO’s ghost-writer said in an email…

But they will remember the insights and experiences you give them.
