Is Direct Marketing Dead?

Branding vs Advertising

I was asked if direct response marketing is dead, because the Hatch book is filled with examples of direct response mail.

No, it isn’t dead.

It might not be so common in the mail these days…

But the methods of driving urgency…

Discussing real scarcity…

Using curiosity…

Suggesting the next step…

And all the other tricks of the trade…

Are all alive today.

Ever see a commercial on YouTube that lasts 30 minutes?

Or find a website offer that is packed with testimonials?

Direct response will never die, because there is money to be made in your list.

It’s a goldmine.

That’s why I named my company Goldmine Marketing.

I don’t do brand marketing, put a logo up somewhere and call it good.

Because it isn’t very good.

It’s lazy.

What isn’t lazy?

Researching your customer and pushing their hot buttons.

PS. Maybe you don’t want to see how they did it. Maybe you just want some help, someone to do it for you.

If that’s you, reply and let’s talk.
