Have you seen it too?

Fellow marketer John Bejakovic recently wrote about a drop in marketing and copywriting courses being sold.
Like, people ain’t buyin’.
(I don’t think that’s entirely my doing, when I said I was going to focus on re-running through those valuable info nuggets I’ve already bought over the years.
Surely, someone else out there was keeping these guys afloat!)
Now, I don’t offer courses.
I offer solutions.
But I am on a lot of lists, and I’ve seen a decline in the number of courses being offered.
Is AI to blame?
Do course creators think AI can give us everything we want, faster and cheaper, so why bother?
I honestly don’t know.
But what I do know is a course is valuable, and the relationship you have with the course creator is why many people buy one course over another.
In the magic documentary Deceptive Practices, magician Ricky Jay says,
“I’ve collected thousands of books in my life about magic technique. But I believe that the real key to learning is… the way you want to learn is by someone that you respect showing you something.”
I don’t want AI to tell me how to write bullets.
Because I don’t have (or want) a “relationship” with AI.
I want John’s Copy Riddles course to help me improve my bullets. Because it’s a great course, well structured, and insightful.
And it comes from someone I have a relationship with.
Or a book even, with someone’s personality in it.
It’s the same reason I write to you.
Talk a bit about marketing.
Share something about my life.
Read your reply and learn about your life.
Build our relationship.
And then, one day when you decide you could use some help, I’m your guy.
And if not, that’s ok too.
I also know that while AI has info, it doesn’t ‘know’ everything.
Like the info in The Secrets of Emotional, Hot-Button Copywriting.
Successful sales letters. Techniques learned through trial and error and passed down from one respected marketer to the next. Swipes to “steal smart.”
Ways to grow your skills, instead of letting them get weak, or giving up on them all together so AI can do it for you.
Got your copy yet?
Ok, I’m heading to a baseball uniform fitting for my son. I can’t wait for baseball season to start. Who knew it would be so much fun to be a dad?
Have a great weekend.
