Longtime readers of this website may know how it got its start back in 2016:

Reading and summarizing the lessons found in the books from Scott Adam’s “Persuasion Reading List.”

And while I didn’t summarize all of the books –– persuasive copywriting became my main focus –– I did write up a good number of the books on his list (and I read others that I didn’t summarize).

Well, if you haven’t heard, Scott Adams died from cancer yesterday at age 68.

Scott, through his blog and livestreams, changed the way I saw the world in profound ways.

He enlightened his audience daily for 10 years over a cup of coffee, discussing the news and ideas through various “filters” that helped him –– and us –– understand and reframe reality in new and unexpected ways.

Or, as Scott liked to put it, “escape from our mental prisons.”

His thinking and ideas made him enemies along the way. He never let that stop him.

I was there from the beginning, having stumbled across his blog for other reasons, and the things he taught us changed my life, and many other lives, too.

It’s been a wild ride, and one that I feel honored to share with Scott and his fellow fans.

And I know better than to have regrets. But not inviting Scott onto my Persuasion Play Podcast is one regret I do have. Luckily, Scott recorded so much content that I don’t think I would have added anything to the wider conversation.

Today I want to link a few of my favorite episodes from back when Scott used Periscope. (I’m surprised these links still work!)

I collected this list in 2018, so there are likely a ton of newer videos that are also valuable, but these ones stood out to me at the time.

Scott Adams talks about Mass Hysteria and Stuff

Scott Adams tells you how to Build a Talent Stack

Scott Adams teaches you the Negoponte Shift and how Computers will soon Rule our Minds

Quick Lesson on using Persuasion to Pitch your Startup

Scott Adams tells you how Kanye showed the way to the Golden Age

Scott Adams shows us how Trump “shakes the box”

Here are two newer, valuable videos:

Scott Adams’ User Interface to Reality

Scott Adams Cures Your Laziness

And last night, I reflected on Scott’s legacy and read a few quotes from his books, How to Fail at Everything and Still Win Big, Win Bigly, and Loserthink.

You can watch that video here.

Keep expanding your mind, *|FNAME|*, and thanks for being here.

Scott, you will be missed.
