Mental health programs in schools: Working or Nah?

It’s mental health month in the Catholic church.

Well, officially it’s “National Catholic Mental Health Campaign” month.

Anyway, it brought to mind this article in the Guardian that schools that offer mental health and wellness programs for all children aren’t very effective.

Yet they seem like a good idea.

Cancelling these programs feels cruel.

And perhaps it’s limited to the UK, while here in the US the programs are doing… better?

Honestly, I don’t know.

But research wouldn’t hurt.

And know what would help?

Learning skills that are valuable to a well-rounded life.

Where we’re not under the threat of AI taking away meaningful work.
